- create_article≈ 3112 tokens
Create a new guide article. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'cms' scope. The article is created UNPUBLISHED and is not visible on the site — review it, then publish it with update_article. The URL slug is derived from the title. IMPORTANT: MotorLoop's guides make factual claims about Australian road law that differ per state; do not assert a rule you cannot source, and prefer omitting a detail to guessing it.

Paramètresbody· string · requis
The article body as markdoc/markdown: ## for section headings, - for bullets, [text](url) for links, > for a callout. To give the page an FAQ, end the body with a `## FAQs` section where each `### Question?` heading is followed by its answer as prose — the page renders it AND automatically publishes it as FAQ schema (FAQPage JSON-LD) for search and AI answer engines; the result's `faqs` echoes the pairs that parsed, so an empty `faqs` after writing one means the headings are mis-formatted. BLOCKS. Beyond markdown you may use these, each starting on its own line: - {% watchOut %}…{% /watchOut %} — a hazard the reader must not miss. Real risk only. - {% callout tone="info"|"tip" title="optional" %}…{% /callout %} — an aside that is not a hazard. Two tones only; anything more specific is the title. - {% pullQuote quote="…" attribution="…" /%} — one line lifted out at display size. - {% keyFacts title="…" facts=[{label: "…", value: "…"}] /%} — a small reference strip. - {% statBand stats=[{value: "…", label: "…"}] /%} — two to four figures at hero scale. - {% steps title="…" %} wrapping {% step title="…" %}…{% /step %} — a numbered how-to. Use it ONLY when the article genuinely is ordered steps: it publishes HowTo structured data, and markup the page does not back is worse than none. - {% compare columns=["A", "B"] rows=[{label: "…", marks: ["yes", "no"]}] /%} — a designed comparison. A mark is yes, no, partial, or your own short text. - {% figure src="/…" alt="…" caption="…" size="large" /%} — one picture. The src must be a file on this site (see import_article_images) and the alt is required. size is optional: small, medium, large (the default — the reading width, centred) or full (the whole page width); keep full for the picture that earns it. - {% gallery folder="Articles/{kind}/{slug}" /%} — a set of pictures from ONE media folder. It names a folder, never a list of images, so each picture's credit comes off the library rather than the body. Only PUBLISHED files appear. - {% related slugs=["a-slug"] /%} — hand-picked further reading. A slug that no longer resolves is dropped rather than linking nowhere. Any other tag name is REFUSED on write — markdoc would drop it silently and the block would vanish from the page, so it is rejected at the door instead.kind· string · requis
The editorial cluster this article is filed in: "buy" (buying guides), "sell" (selling guides) or "news" (dated reporting). It no longer decides the URL — contentType and category do — but it IS what search_articles filters by and how get_article addresses the article, and it cannot be changed afterwards through these tools. Choose it to match the content: "news" for a dated story, "sell" for a seller's guide, "buy" otherwise.tags· array|null · optionnel
Editorial subject tags, e.g. ["ev", "road-rules"] — the site's own vocabulary, which readers filter by and search_articles takes its `tag` argument from. Call list_article_tags first and reuse an existing tag where one fits; an unknown one is created rather than refused, so a near-miss spelling silently starts a second tag meaning the same thing. At most 12. The section's own structural tags and the category are applied automatically — do not list them here.title· string · requis
Article title. Also produces the URL slug.entity· string|null · optionnel
Which vertical's library the article belongs to - the plural entity noun a storefront family uses ('cars', 'boats', ...). Omit for the library of the storefront this endpoint is mounted on. Only storefronts carrying that noun show the article.category· string|null · optionnel
REQUIRED. The subject category, and the second-last segment of the URL: /{noun}/{contentType}/{category}/{slug}. One of buying, selling, ev-ownership, car-tax, finance, inspecting, paperwork, situations, pricing, selling-safely, evs, recalls, road-rules, prices, used-cars, new-cars, sports-cars, industry. It CAN be changed later — that moves the page, and the old URL redirects to the new.latitude· string|null · optionnel
Latitude in decimal degrees, e.g. "-38.1499". ⚠ CALL search_places FIRST and use the coordinates it returns rather than recalling them — that tool is this site's own geocoder, and a remembered coordinate puts the pin in the wrong Richmond. Must be sent together with longitude; the API refuses one without the other. Empty string clears it.template· string|null · optionnel
Layout name. One of: standard (the default), feature (large opener + on-page contents), longform (narrative, drop cap, no contents), photo-essay (opens on the header image when set, otherwise the body's FIRST figure), explainer (contents in a sticky rail, for reference pages read by search-and-scan). Omit for the default.expiresOn· string|null · optionnel
ISO date the article stops being visible, inclusive — it is still live ON that date. Omit for an article that never expires, which is right for an evergreen guide and wrong for news about a deadline.longitude· string|null · optionnel
Longitude in decimal degrees, e.g. "144.3617". See latitude — the two are set together.authorName· string|null · optionnel
The byline to PRINT. Omit to use the author's own name — supply it only to publish under an alias or pen name.coverImage· string|null · optionnel
The article's HEADER IMAGE: the picture on its cards across the site, and the photograph its social share card (what Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WhatsApp show when the page is shared) is composed over. It must be a picture already in MotorLoop's media library, given by its site address, e.g. "/uploads/media/shared/2026/abc123.jpg" — to use a picture from the web, import it with import_article_images and pass the storedUrl get_article_images reports once it has arrived; never the address it was imported from, which is refused. Choose a landscape photo: it is cropped to 1.9:1. Send an empty string to remove the cover. Shared posts already on a social network keep the card they were shared with.contentType· string|null · optionnel
What this IS — "article" for an evergreen guide, "news" for dated reporting, "event" for something happening on a date, or "announcement". It is the FIRST URL segment after the storefront noun: /{noun}/{contentType}/{category}/{slug}. Defaults to "article".description· string · requis
Meta description for search results — roughly 140-160 characters, and 220 at the very most, because it has to fit a card.eventEndsAt· string|null · optionnel
When the event finishes, same format. Omit for something that happens at a moment rather than over a span. Must not be before the start. Empty string clears it.publishFrom· string|null · optionnel
ISO date the article should first become visible once it is published, e.g. 2026-09-01. Omit for "as soon as it is published". Publishing is still a separate step — this only says when a published article starts appearing.authorUserId· string|null · optionnel
Id of the registered MotorLoop user to credit as the author. Omit to credit the account the API token belongs to. The id must be a real user on this site.locationName· string|null · optionnel
Where it is, as a person would say it — "Geelong, Victoria". Printed on the page. Empty string clears it.coverImageAlt· string|null · optionnel
What the header image shows, for a reader who cannot see it — one plain sentence. Omit it to use the description the media library already holds for that picture; required when the library has none. Never derive it from the title or the file name.eventStartsAt· string|null · optionnel
When the thing the article is ABOUT happens — the start of a sale, a meet, a deadline. ISO 8601 WITH the offset, e.g. "2026-09-12T09:00:00+10:00"; with no offset it is read as UTC. ⚠ This is NOT publishFrom and NOT the publication date: publishFrom is when the PAGE becomes visible, this is when the EVENT is. An event on 12 September you want readers to find from 1 August sets both, and setting only one of them either hides the page until the day or tells readers the wrong date. Send an empty string to clear it.locationAddress· string|null · optionnel
The street address or venue, if there is one — "Geelong Showgrounds, 79 Breakwater Rd". Optional and independent of the place name: a story about a suburb has a place and no address. It is printed, never geocoded. Empty string clears it.

Model name, e.g. "Corolla".price· number · requisimageUrls· array|null · optionnel
Public https URLs of the listing's photos, in the order they should appear. The server downloads them in the BACKGROUND after the listing is created, so they are not on the listing when this call returns — the seller is emailed when they land. At most this storefront's photo limit per listing — get_capabilities reports the number: by default anything beyond that, and any duplicates, are dropped and reported back in `photos`, keeping the first ones in the order you sent them. Not every storefront allows this; if yours does not, the call is refused and says so.attributes· object|null · optionnel
Extended attributes keyed per get_search_options, e.g. {"ModelYearMY":"2014","State":"NSW","BodyType":"SUV","Transmission":"Automatic"}. Multi-select fields take comma-separated values. The model year and the car's location go here too — both are ordinary storefront-defined fields with no fixed name, so read get_search_options for what this storefront calls them, whether it has them at all, and what shape each takes (a monthyear field wants "2014-06" or "2014"; an enum is matched exactly, so send "NSW", not "nsw").odometerKm· integer · requis
Odometer reading in kilometres.storefront· string|null · optionnel
MotorLoop platform administrators only: act on this storefront instead of the one this endpoint is mounted on. Omit it and the URL decides, which is what every ordinary credential should do. Call list_storefronts for the slugs.description· string|null · optionnel

What to do when more photo URLs are given than the storefront's limit: "truncate" (default) keeps the first ones and tells you what it dropped, "reject" refuses the call instead. Truncate is the default because a dealer export routinely carries more photos a car than the limit and failing the whole listing over it helps nobody.

Bulk-create up to 25 vehicle listings in one call — for a dealer importing stock from a spreadsheet or inventory export. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. Every listing is created as a DRAFT and is NOT publicly visible; publish them with set_vehicle_status once you have checked them. ALWAYS call get_search_options first and map values to the EXACT option strings it returns (a spreadsheet's "Auto" is usually "Automatic"; "Sedan" may not be a valid BodyType). Every row is validated BEFORE anything is written, so by default one bad row means nothing is created and you can fix the mapping and retry. To rehearse an import with a guarantee that nothing is written, pass dryRun:true. Do NOT rely on onInvalid:"abort" for that — abort withholds writes only when a row is actually invalid, so a batch where everything is valid is created. Set a StockNumber attribute (your own inventory reference) on each row to make re-running the same import safe: a row whose StockNumber already exists on one of your listings is skipped rather than duplicated. Rows without one have no duplicate protection at all and are counted back to you as withoutStockNumber.
Paramètres, retour & exemple (5)
ParamètresdryRun· boolean · optionnel
Rehearse without writing anything. Every row is validated and reported as it would be on a real run — including rows that would be skipped as already imported — but no listing is created, whatever onInvalid says. Guarantees zero writes; it does NOT guarantee the real run then succeeds, because a create can still be refused afterwards for reasons the preflight cannot see.vehicles· array · requis
The listings to create, max 25 per call. Split a larger import into batches.onInvalid· string · optionnel
"abort" (default) writes nothing at all if ANY row is invalid. "skip" creates the valid rows and reports the rest. This is NOT a dry run — when every row is valid, abort writes them all; pass dryRun:true for a rehearsal.storefront· string|null · optionnel
MotorLoop platform administrators only: act on this storefront instead of the one this endpoint is mounted on. Omit it and the URL decides, which is what every ordinary credential should do. Call list_storefronts for the slugs.onTooManyImages· string · optionnel
What to do with a row carrying more photo URLs than the storefront's limit (get_capabilities reports the number): "truncate" (default) imports it with the first ones and reports the drop in that row's `photos`, "reject" marks the row invalid instead — which, under onInvalid:"abort", fails the whole batch exactly as it did before this option existed.

Delete a listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront). Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope, AND the storefront must have enabled deletion over MCP — it is off by default and many storefronts leave it off. THIS IS NOT REVERSIBLE from here: the listing disappears from the site immediately and only a platform administrator can restore it. How a person connects their own MotorLoop account to this assistant, so it can manage their listings rather than only search public ones. Returns the links they need: where to sign up, where to create an API token, and the setup guide. Call this when a tool has refused for lack of a credential, or when someone asks how to list their car through you. It returns URLs only — MotorLoop never takes an email, password or token through this conversation. A client that supports OAuth is sent through MotorLoop's own sign-in page with nothing to paste; one that does not uses a token the person creates in their browser and pastes into this client's configuration.

Read one guide or news article in full. The body is markdoc/markdown source, so headings, bullets and links come through as written. Answer from this rather than from memory when the question is about Australian car buying or selling, and include the returned `url` so the reader can see the current page, its sources and its last-updated date. `faqs` carries the page's question-and-answer pairs as structured data whenever the body has a visible `## FAQs` section — the same pairs the page publishes as FAQ schema — so quote answers from there without parsing the markdoc yourself. Platform administrators additionally see unpublished drafts and can edit them with update_article. ⚠ `tags` here is the article's STORED editorial set — the one to send back when editing. search_articles reports tags with the article's section and category folded in, which is right for filtering and wrong to write back. ⚠ `visibility` — "live", "scheduled", "expired" or "draft" — is what says whether a reader can open this page, NOT `published`: a published article still answers 404 while its `publishFrom` is in the future or its `expiresOn` has passed, and both dates are returned so you can say when. Do not offer a non-live page to someone as though it were readable, and do not "fix" a "scheduled" one — it goes live on its own date.

The stored URLs of pictures imported with import_article_images, and the status of any download still running. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'cms' scope. THIS IS WHERE THE USABLE URL COMES FROM. `storedUrl` on each row is the site's own address for the picture — put THAT in a `{% figure src="…" %}` block. `url` is the address it was fetched from and is of no use to an article body. Name an importId (from import_article_images), or an article with kind + slug, or neither to see this storefront's most recent imports. A row whose status is "Pending" is still downloading — wait a moment and ask again. "Failed" carries the reason; a dead URL will not improve by being asked for again, so find another picture rather than re-importing the same address. "Parked" means the storefront has spent its daily download budget and nothing is wrong with the pictures.

Start here, and call this again whenever a tool refuses. The help and self-description tool: it reports what THIS caller can do on THIS storefront right now — whether a credential was presented and accepted, which scopes it effectively carries, which of the tools will actually answer (with the reason for each one that will not), and the storefront's own switches, such as whether it permits listings to be deleted or photos to be fetched from URLs. tools/list advertises every tool to every caller, so it cannot tell you any of this; the answer depends on the credential and the storefront, and changes between calls. Also names the step-by-step workflows available from get_workflow. Needs no credential — call it anonymously to find out what a credential would unlock.

When an attribute carries optionParents, it CASCADES: the entry at each index of options is valid only for a listing whose parent field holds the value at the same index of optionParents (e.g. Model under Make). Every photo on a listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront), with each photo's ID, public URL, position, label and — where the photo came from a url import — the ORIGINAL source URL it was fetched from. Requires a MotorLoop API token. This is the only tool that returns image IDs, so call it first whenever you intend to reorder, relabel or otherwise name a single photo: get_vehicle returns just a count and the cover URL, and my_vehicles returns counts only. Position 0 is the cover photo. It also returns the storefront's label vocabulary, which is what set_vehicle_photos matches against.

Step-by-step recipes for the jobs that take several calls in a particular order, each with the mistakes that answer 200 while being wrong — the ones no single tool's description can warn you about, because the trap is in the sequence. Read the matching recipe BEFORE starting one of these jobs: listing a car (connect_account, list_a_car), importing a dealer's stock from a spreadsheet (bulk_import), changing an existing listing (update_a_listing), searching stock properly (search_well), answering an Australian road-law, registration-transfer, stamp-duty or car-tax question (answer_a_road_law_question), and authoring site content (publish_a_guide). Omit `name` for all of them. Needs no credential.

Download pictures from the web into MotorLoop's editorial image library, so an article body can reference them. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'cms' scope. ⚠ NOTHING HAPPENS IMMEDIATELY and the URLs are NOT ready when this returns. The download runs in the background exactly as a listing's photos do. Call get_article_images with the returned importId a few seconds later to get the stored URLs — those, not the source URLs, are what a `{% figure src="…" %}` block must reference. A figure pointing at somebody else's server is refused by the renderer. ⚠ COPYRIGHT IS YOURS TO CHECK. This will fetch whatever the URL serves; it cannot tell a licensed photograph from one that is not. Import from a source the site is entitled to publish — a public-domain or CC0 library, or the storefront's own material — and say which, rather than picking the first plausible search result. Order does not matter and nothing is attached to anything: this fills a shared library. Naming an article with kind + slug is only a label so the pictures can be found again later; the body still has to reference them itself, which is the author's sentence to write and never something this tool edits.
Paramètres, retour & exemple (5)
Paramètreskind· string|null · optionnel
Optional. The article these pictures are for, as its kind ("buy", "sell", "news") — pass it together with slug. It is a LABEL for finding them again with get_article_images, nothing more: it does not put them in the body, and an article that does not exist yet is the normal case, since you need the stored URLs before you can write the body that references them.slug· string|null · optionnel
Optional, and only with kind. The article's URL slug.entity· string|null · optionnel
Optional entity noun ("cars", "boats") pinning WHICH library's article the kind + slug names. Omit for the storefront's own noun; "*" for a global article.folder· string|null · optionnel
Optional. The media-library folder to file these under, as a path, e.g. "Articles/sell/how-to-sell-a-car". Levels are created if they do not exist. This is what makes the pictures usable by a `{% gallery folder="…" /%}` block, which names a FOLDER rather than a list of images — put the same path in both. Omit it and, when you passed kind + slug, they are filed under Articles/{kind}/{slug} automatically, which is the path a gallery for that article should name. With no kind + slug either, they go to a dated Imports folder. ⚠ A gallery still shows only files somebody has PUBLISHED in the library, and an import lands unpublished. So a gallery block written now renders empty until a person publishes them; a `{% figure %}` pointing at the stored URL works immediately and needs no publishing.imageUrls· array · requis
Picture URLs to download, http(s), up to 25 per call. Duplicates and blanks are dropped and the first 25 that remain are kept — the result reports exactly what was accepted. Each must serve a JPEG, PNG or WebP; the format is read from the BYTES, so a URL ending .jpg that serves something else is refused. To give each picture its own title, caption, credit and licence as it lands, use import_gallery_photos instead.

The download runs in the background; call get_gallery_import with the importId a few seconds later for each photo's id and URL. ⚠ Every photo lands PRIVATE, owned by you. Submit it for review with set_gallery_photos_visibility "Pending"; only a RootAdmin can make it Public. ⚠ Nothing is cut short or dropped: a field over its limit, a licence you may not choose, or a place.* key sent without the location field refuses the WHOLE call and names every problem, so nothing half-imports. ⚠ COPYRIGHT IS YOURS TO CHECK. The subject vocabulary MotorLoop's guides and news are tagged with, each with how many articles carry it. Two uses: it is where search_articles' `tag` argument comes from, and it is what a platform administrator should read before authoring — reusing an existing tag rather than inventing a near-miss spelling is the whole value of the vocabulary, and create_article mints an unknown tag rather than refusing it. Entries marked `structural` are derived from an article's section and category: filter by them, but never send one back in a `tags` list.

List the listings owned by the authenticated account, in any status including Draft. Requires a MotorLoop API token. Use this to find the id of a listing to update. Returns one page at a time — request the next page while hasMore is true. ⚠ For a MotorLoop platform administrator this lists EVERY seller's listings on the storefront by default, not just their own — see `allSellers` to narrow back. Each row carries the listing's `description` as stored, so this is also how you read a Draft's text back before correcting it — get_vehicle serves only what a caller holding the link may see (Active, Sold, Unlisted and UnderOffer), and a Draft is not in that set. ⚠ A MotorLoop platform administrator is the exception: get_vehicle serves them every status, so for them this tool is how you FIND a listing rather than the only way to read one. To find particular listings rather than page the whole inventory, use `query` (free text over make, model, plate and DESCRIPTION — the way to find every listing whose text contains some phrase) or `stockNumber` (your own inventory reference, matched exactly).

Remove ONE photo from a listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront). Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. Call get_vehicle_photos first — it returns the image IDs this takes, and it is the only tool that does. ⚠ This deletes the stored file. There is no undo. If the photo came from a URL import you can fetch it again with retry_vehicle_images; a photo the seller uploaded from the website is gone for good. Confirm with the person before calling this, and remove one photo per call rather than looping over a list you inferred. The remaining photos close up: whatever was next becomes the new cover if you removed position 0. To swap a bad photo for a good one, remove it, then pass the replacement URL to retry_vehicle_images.

Re-run the photo download for listings whose photos did not all arrive — and, with dryRun:true, THE ONLY WAY TO SEE WHY an individual photo URL failed. my_vehicles reports counts and one summary error; this reports every URL with its own status, error text, HTTP status and last-attempt time. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. Photos already on the listing are NEVER fetched again, so repeating this is safe and cannot duplicate a photo. Name listings by vehicleIds, by stockNumbers, or both — up to 25 per call. ⚠ YOUR OWN LISTINGS ONLY, and unlike every other listing tool here that stays true for a storefront admin AND for a MotorLoop platform administrator: a retry spends the storefront's daily photo-download budget on someone else's listing, so it is deliberately not widened. A listing you do not own is reported 'not found' rather than refused — ask its seller to run this. Pass imageUrls (ONE listing only) to add replacement photos when the originals are dead, which is the usual answer when a URL failed with a 404. Nothing happens immediately: the photos download in the background exactly as they do on create. ALWAYS run it with dryRun:true first and show the person which URLs are hopeless — re-queueing a dead link fetches it again for the same answer and spends the storefront's daily download budget doing it.

INCLUDE THE STREET NUMBER in the query ("12 Smith Street, Richmond"); without one the lookup can only answer with whole streets. `country` narrows the search and is optional — a storefront may scope its address field to one country, but that scope is not enforced when the listing is saved, so omitting it widens the results rather than breaking anything. An address the lookup does not know can still be entered as plain text. Search MotorLoop's editorial — the buying and selling guides, plus dated car news — on Australian car buying, selling, road law, fees and taxes. Use this whenever someone asks what MotorLoop says about a topic, or asks a general question about buying or selling a car in Australia, before answering from memory: these pages are checked against primary sources (the ATO, ASIC, state revenue offices and road authorities), and each state differs. Search matches the article text, not just its title. Every result carries a `url` — cite it when you use what the guide says, because the page is the version that is kept up to date and the reader can check it. ⚠ READ `visibility`, NOT `published`, to decide whether a reader can actually open a page. It is one of "live", "scheduled", "expired" or "draft". `published` is only one of the three things that decide it: an article can be published and still answer 404 because its `publishFrom` has not arrived or its `expiresOn` has passed. Only "live" is publicly readable, and only a "live" page should be cited to someone. A "scheduled" one needs no action — it appears on its own date, which `publishFrom` gives you.

Change the visibility of up to 100 photos in one call. "Pending" submits your own Private photos for review; "Private" withdraws a request or takes a photo down. "Public" PUBLISHES to the public gallery and is RootAdmin only — anyone else is refused before anything changes. A reviewer sending photos back with "Private" passes a reason; the uploader sees it on each photo (metadata review.note) and publishing clears it. Each photo is reported on its own. list_gallery_review_queue lists what is waiting.

Change the ORDER or the LABELS of photos already on a listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront). Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. Call get_vehicle_photos first — it returns the image IDs this tool takes. Position 0 is the cover photo, so making a photo the cover means putting its ID first in `order`. There is no separate cover setting. This tool NEVER adds, replaces or removes a photo: it only rearranges and renames what is already there, so it is safe to repeat. To add photos, or to re-run ones that failed to download, use the photo-import path on create instead.
Paramètres, retour & exemple (4)
Paramètresorder· array|null · optionnel
The listing's image IDs in the order they should appear, first = cover. MUST list every one of the listing's photos exactly once — a partial list is refused rather than leaving the rest unordered. Omit to leave the order alone.labels· object|null · optionnel
Labels to set, keyed by image ID, e.g. {"<id>":"Front"}. Each value must be one of the storefront's labels exactly as get_vehicle_photos reports them in availableLabels. Send an empty string to CLEAR a photo's label. Photos you do not name keep whatever label they have.vehicleId· string · requis
The listing's GUID id (from my_vehicles).storefront· string|null · optionnel

Publish, unpublish, or mark sold a listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront). Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. Setting status to "Active" makes the listing PUBLICLY VISIBLE — confirm with the person before doing so.

Adjust an existing article, and publish or unpublish it. Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'cms' scope. Only the fields you supply are changed — omit a field to leave it as it is. Setting publish to true makes the article PUBLICLY VISIBLE; confirm with the person before doing so.
Paramètres, retour & exemple (24)
Paramètresbody· string|null · optionnel
Replacement markdoc body. Read the current one with get_article first — this REPLACES the body, it does not merge into it. A visible `## FAQs` section (each `### Question?` followed by its answer) publishes automatically as FAQ schema; the result's `faqs` echoes what parsed, so check it after editing one.
"buy", "sell" or "news".slug· string · requis
The article's URL slug. The slug does not change when the title does.tags· array|null · optionnel
Replacement editorial tags — the COMPLETE set, not additions: whatever is sent replaces what the article carries, and omitting this leaves the tags alone. ⚠ Take the current set from get_article, NOT from search_articles: that one also reports the structural tags and the category, which are derived rather than stored, and sending them back would store them for good. Pass an empty array to clear every tag. At most 12; call list_article_tags for what already exists.title· string|null · optionnelentity· string|null · optionnel
Which vertical's library holds the article - the plural entity noun ('cars', 'boats', ...). Omit for the library of the storefront this endpoint is mounted on.publish· boolean|null · optionnel
true publishes the article, false unpublishes it. Omit to leave unchanged.category· string|null · optionnel
Re-file the article under a different category. One of buying, selling, ev-ownership, car-tax, finance, inspecting, paperwork, situations, pricing, selling-safely, evs, recalls, road-rules, prices, used-cars, new-cars, sports-cars, industry. ⚠ THIS MOVES THE PAGE — the category is part of the URL. The old address redirects to the new one, so existing links keep working.latitude· string|null · optionnel
Omit for the default. Omit to leave unchanged.expiresOn· string|null · optionnel
ISO date the article stops being visible, inclusive. Pass an empty string to clear it so the article never expires.longitude· string|null · optionnel
Longitude in decimal degrees, e.g. "144.3617". See latitude — the two are set together.authorName· string|null · optionnel
The byline to PRINT — supply it to publish under an alias. Omit to leave the current byline alone.coverImage· string|null · optionnel
Shared posts already on a social network keep the card they were shared with. Omit to leave the current one.contentType· string|null · optionnel
Change what this IS: "article", "news", "event" or "announcement". ⚠ THIS MOVES THE PAGE — the type is the first URL segment after the noun. The old address redirects to the new one.description· string|null · optionneleventEndsAt· string|null · optionnel
When the event finishes, same format. Omit for something that happens at a moment rather than over a span. Must not be before the start. Empty string clears it.lastUpdated· string|null · optionnel
ISO date shown as the article's last-updated stamp, e.g. 2026-07-30.publishFrom· string|null · optionnel
ISO date the article becomes visible, e.g. 2026-09-01. Pass an empty string to clear the schedule so a published article shows immediately.authorUserId· string|null · optionnel
Id of the registered MotorLoop user to credit. Pass an empty string to remove the byline and fall back to the house one.locationName· string|null · optionnel

Update a gallery photo's title, alt text, caption/description, credit, licence, tags, or gallery metadata (including location fields). Omitted text fields are unchanged; send an empty string to clear. Metadata values set to null are removed. Limits: title 300, alt 500, caption 1000, credit 200, licence 200 characters — longer is refused, never cut. A place is set through the storefront's location field ("Suburb, State, Country"); place.* keys sent alone are refused. Public photos are frozen for uploaders: take your own photo down first, edit, then submit it for review again. For many photos use update_gallery_photos.

Edit up to 100 photos in one call, each with its OWN title, alt, caption, credit, licence, tags and gallery fields — the batch form of update_gallery_photo. Every row is checked first: a field over its limit, a licence you may not choose or a place.* key without the location field refuses the WHOLE call and nothing is written. After that, each photo is reported on its own (one you do not own, or a Public one you must take down first, fails without stopping the rest).

Replace one of the site's structured CMS documents. Requires the 'cms' scope. This REPLACES the whole document — read it with get_site_content first and send the full edited JSON back, or you will drop the entries you didn't mention. Menu and featured entries pointing at an unpublished or deleted guide are skipped when the site renders, so a link can never 404. Changes are live immediately: confirm before writing.

Update an existing listing owned by the authenticated account (or, for storefront admins, any listing in this storefront). Requires a MotorLoop API token with the 'write' scope. All core fields must be supplied — this replaces the listing's details, it does not merge them. THE ATTRIBUTES BAG IS A REPLACE: every extended field left out of it is CLEARED, so read the listing with get_vehicle first and send the full set back unless you mean to wipe the rest. The description is the one exception — omit it and the current text is kept.
